In parallel with, and to complement his hands-on farming activities, Lindsay has always taken an active part in the wider industry and in developing his own skills:

  • Director of Water Resources East Ltd.
  • Governor of the Chadacre Agricultural Trust
  • Chairman of the Lark Abstractors Group, liaison group working with the Environment Agency and the NFU for the benefit of water abstractors.
  • Board member of the Lakenheath Internal Drainage Board
  • Made a Fellow of the Royal Agricultural Societies in 2013

  • Extensive work with the NFU and the CLA specializing in policy development for irrigation and the environment, including the Water Framework Directive, Catchment Abstraction Management Strategies, Catchment Sensitive Farming, Nitrate Vulnerable Zones and Soils Strategy for Eastern England.
  • Past Chairman of Worshipful Company of Farmers Education Committee, which is responsible for the Advanced Course in Agricultural Business Management held annually at the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester, and the Challenge of Rural Leadership course held annually at Duchy College

  • Worked from 2006 - 2011 as a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Farmers to promote British agriculture to the wider public through involvement with the Lord Mayor’s show. www.lordmayorsshow.org
  • Award in Business and Leadership, School of Management, Cranfield University, in 2010

  • Awarded the Frank Arden Memorial Nuffield Farming Scholarship 2009 to study new technology for UK agriculture

  • Awarded Fellowship of the Institute of Agricultural Management in 2008
  • Gained Membership of the BASIS Professional Register in 2000
  • Certificate of Competence in Road Haulage Operations in 1995
  • 42nd Worshipful Company of Farmers Advanced Course in Agricultural Business Management, Wye College in 1992
  • Graduated in agriculture from Wye College, University of London in 1978
  • Member of the London Farmers’ Club.
